With only two weeks left before our fundraiser, we are happy that things are going well. Many
now know all about Speakers for Africa and are ready to get involved. Our goal stands at
$15,000 and we are hoping to reach this by the end of September. It’s important to remember all donated money can be followed on Facebook as we deliver it to the school. Those kids are counting on us and they will be so happy to know a new building is coming. Can you imagine attending class and sitting in the rain? Just think about them and how important it is to sit in a new class room, dry and learning.
Peyton, my son recently returned from Uganda four months ago when he gave donations to
this school with school supplies, and discovered the urgent need for a new building. We were able to provide food at lunch time, as that was the only way to get kids to attend. We also created two soccer teams with tee shirts that designated each kid on a competing side. In doing so, we were able to personally involve so many and in return they tackled assignments.
My son and I have remained close to these students. We speak to these teachers from here to stay alert to their needs. Many teachers receive no money for their commitment and we try to address this, too. We are so excited to grow our donations and somehow find a way to service those 1000 students that attend Uganda Youth Aid Nursey and Primary School. If you have donated already we thank you. These school kids deserve to attend school and eventually graduate. In all our efforts we are going to be successful.
