Building Desks, Building Futures in Kampala, Uganda

Updated: Nov 26, 2025

In too many classrooms across Uganda, children are forced to sit on the bare ground as they try to learn. At the Uganda Youth Aid Nursery and Primary School in Kampala, this has been the reality for far too long.

In February 2025, thanks to your generous support, we built 20 sturdy wooden desks for these eager young learners. In August, we added another 12 desks—each one transforming the way a classroom looks and feels.

Today, the finish line is in sight. Only 18 desks remain to ensure every child at Uganda Youth Aid has a seat, a writing surface, and the dignity they deserve in their learning environment.

This isn’t just about wood and nails. It’s about giving children the tools to succeed—to read, to write, to dream. No child should have to sit on the ground to get an education.

You can help us make it happen. With your support, we can finish this project and give every student a seat of their own.
