Boys and Girls Sports
Since 2024, Speakers for Africa has established boys’ and girls’ soccer teams at Uganda Youth Aid School in Kampala and boys’ and girls’ teams at Rwakobo Primary School near Lake Mburo National Park (launched March 2025). In addition, we introduced a girls’ soccer team at Uganda Youth Aid School in 2024 and a girls’ volleyball team in Rwakobo in 2025. These programs provide uniforms, equipment, coaching, and structured practice, giving students safe recreational outlets, boosting confidence, and building school pride.
Speakers for Africa is investing in the future of Ugandan youth by developing sustainable athletic programs that extend far beyond the playing field. Beginning in 2024, we established boys’ and girls’ soccer teams at Uganda Youth Aid School and expanded the model to Rwakobo Primary School in March 2025—an area located just inside Lake Mburo National Park. We also launched a girls’ soccer team at Uganda Youth Aid School and introduced a girls’ volleyball team in Rwakobo, ensuring equitable access to sports for both genders.
Over time, these programs are designed to:
Strengthen discipline, leadership, teamwork, and resilience
Increase school attendance and reduce dropout rates
Empower girls by providing safe spaces for participation and peer support
Create community pride and healthy competition between schools
Establish pathways for talented youth to pursue regional and national opportunities
By nurturing athletics today, we are cultivating tomorrow’s leaders—students who learn commitment, respect, and cooperation through sports while gaining a sense of belonging and purpose. These teams will continue to grow, shaping a generation of young athletes whose impact will extend far beyond the pitch or court.
